Divided By Bickford #3 Pt. 2 - The Denialists

Divided By Bickford #3 Pt. 2 - The DenialistsMichael Ellnerhas been the President of an AIDS Denialist group, H.E.A.L.since 1985. They are based in New York City.
Since 1982 H.E.A.L.has "provided information and support for alternative and holistic approaches to AIDS and related conditions."
Typical of any AIDS Denialist group, H.E.A.L.and Michael Ellner are deeply mistrustful of the government, the mainstream medical community and the media which conveys their information.

In part two of this two part podcast, Bickford talks to Ellner in New York.

Ellner has claimed that safe sex and condoms are unecessary, that the HIV virus does not exist and that the reason why the symptoms of AIDS occur are due solely to the effects of antiretroviral medications.

Divided By Bickford #3 Pt. 1 - The Enigma That is Peter Duesberg; AIDS Denialism, According to a Genius

Divided By Bickford #3 Pt. 1 - The Enigma That is Peter Duesberg; AIDS Denialism, According to a GeniusPeter Duesberg was once considered one of the most brilliant minds in science. A Nobel Prize was once in sight and he was friends and a colleague with Dr. Robert Gallo, who is credited with discovering the HIV virus.
But Duesberg insisted that the discovery of the HIV virus as a cause of AIDS was false.

As a result, he lost his colleagues, his grants and the bulk of his work. Thirty years have passed and he continues to be employed at the University of California-Berkeley, working in relative obscurity, and is approaching 80.

In 2008,Discover Magazinefeatured an interview with a well-known HIV/AIDS expertMax Essex.  Essex said that,
"...history will judge (Peter) Duesberg as either "a nut who is just a tease to the scientific community" or an "enabler to mass murder" for the deaths of many AIDS patients in Africa..."
Professor Duesberg joins us in a fascinating, controversial discussion about the course of his career, the strength of his convictions and the cost of sticking to one's own vision of truth.
